"Honored as the 2026 Rising Star"
National Puerto Rican Day Parade
On June 14, 2026, Milton Dávila Jr. had the honor of marching down Manhattan’s historic Fifth Avenue as a 2026 Rising Star at the 69th Annual National Puerto Rican Day Parade. Celebrated under the theme "Somos Más Que 100x35" (We Are More Than 100x35 ), the landmark event recognized his achievements as an international classical guitarist and pianist, as well as his groundbreaking acceptance into The Yehudi Menuhin School.
Reflecting on the Honor
June 12-14. 2026
It is a profound honor to be recognized as the 2026 Rising Star of this year’s National Puerto Rican Day Parade. This distinction holds deep meaning for me, not only as a musician, but as a proud son of Puerto Rico.
As I join a small group of young musicians from around the World at the Yehudi Menuhin School in London, I carry with me the spirit of our island and the "Somos Más Que 100x35" (We Are More Than 100x35 ), that define our people—voices of resilience, passion, and cultural pride.
Being the first Puerto Rican and the first Latin American accepted into this prestigious institution is both a privilege and a responsibility I embrace with humility. I am committed to honoring my heritage in every note I play.
To represent Puerto Rico on Fifth Avenue in New York City and in London—two of the World’s great Cultural Stages—is truly a dream come true. I am deeply grateful to the Board of Directors for this recognition and the opportunity to celebrate our culture through music. Above all, I give thanks to God for His infinite grace and blessings, which continue to guide my journey.
